Government says “To mark Red Wednesday this year, FCDO buildings lit up in red, demonstrating our solidarity with Christians and all people across the world facing persecution because of their faith or beliefs.” Minister refers to the survivors of a terrorist attack on St Francis Xavier Church in Owo, Nigeria.
Red Wednesday and the need to defend the persecuted raised today in the House of Lords. Minister promises to look again at the case of Zhang Zhan the young woman lawyer, motivated by her faith, and jailed by the CCP for 4 years for daring to ask probing questions about the origins of Covid 19.

Today Is Red Wednesday: Stand Up for people persecuted for daring to be different – persecuted for their beliefs or religion by regimes and ideologies that refused to accept Article 18 of the Universal declaration of Human Rights. The Foreign Office, Lambeth Palace and Westminster Cathedral among those to light up red.
