It has begun badly with China’s decision to ban BBC World and by threatening its correspondents in Hong Kong following their courageous reports about the infamies against the Uighurs of Xinjiang. The UK responds to the European Parliament  resolution condemning the crackdown on the democratic opposition in Hong Kong and calls those events  “a grievous attack on Hong Kong’s rights and freedoms”. And Secretary of State Blinken says the USA should “take in some of those fleeing Hong Kong, fleeing the repression, for standing up for their democratic rights.”
