To ask His Majesty’s Government what is the current annual level of overseas aid to Pakistan; what is the projected amount allocated for 2025; and how much of this aid is tied to promoting democracy; human rights, the rule of law, the protection of minorities, and development of civil society in Pakistan. The FCDO’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) allocation for Pakistan for FY 2023-24 is £41.5 million and for 2024-25 the tentative allocation is £133 million – as shared in the FCDO’s 2022-23 Annual Accounts. We prioritise our aid to achieve maximum impact for the people of Pakistan in-line with our strategic priorities, including promoting the rights of religious minorities, the rule of law and development of civil society. Exact spend for specific sectors is not yet available for 2023-24.
