Despite more evidence from the mass surveillance Uyghur concentration camps of Xinjiang, with the honourable exception of Sajid Javid, the Government has still not taken action against Hikvision- sanctioned by the U.S. for their role in Xinjiang. The Foreign Secretary says a Genocide is underway. Why doesn’t the Prime Minister listen to her or at least watch today’s BBC reports?

Question by Lord Alton of Liverpool :
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of (1) reports that the government of the USA is considering imposing sanctions on the Chinese company Hikvision, and (2) whether restrictions on Hikvision imposed by that government have any effect on that company’s operations in the UK. US sanctions are a matter for the US Government, and it remains our position not to speculate about future sanctions or their potential impact. We continue to make clear our deep concerns about the human rights violations occurring in Xinjiang, including the use of mass surveillance and the technology used to facilitate it.
