This is shocking.

Pakistan is a Commonwealth country and is a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Both organisations promote values based on diversity, plurality and respect for difference.

Surely Pakistan’s leaders cannot be indifferent to young minds being filled with hate rather than peace and reconciliation?

This clip shows a preacher in a school in Pakistan exhorting young students, and leading them in a chant “separate the head from the body, separate the head from the body”.

Classrooms are for forming inquisitive young minds and for instilling civilised values – including respect for people who have different beliefs. The authorities in Pakistan should take urgent action to deal with this sort of blood curdling incitement to hatred and murder.
