It was good to see major organisations such as Human Rights Watch, Aegis Trust, and CSW, joining the Coalition for Genocide Response Parliamentary Briefing on the Genocide Amendment to the Trade Bill.

When the amendment reaches the House of Commons, in a couple of weeks time , my parliamentary colleagues, Nusrat Ghani MP and Sir Ian Duncan Smith MP, will act as sponsors of the all-party amendment – which received a huge majority in the House of Lords.

Among those joining Nusrat Ghani and myself on the Briefing were two distinguished lawyers, Sir Geoffrey Nice QC, and Aarif Abraham, along with Luke de Pulford and Ewelina Ochab, co-founders of the Coalition for Genocide Response.
