Dictators, the world over, want a divided and weak America.
They will exploit shameful scenes of anarchy on Capitol Hill.
Republicans and Democrats owe it to their country and its institutions to stand together in defending American democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.
But they, and President Trump, also owe it to every citizen in every country where democracy, human rights, and the rule of law are trampled on by dictators – from China to North Korea- to end mob violence and ensure the peaceful transfer of power.
