Short summary of the report here.

Today, the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Hong Kong and independent advocacy group Fight for Freedom Stand with Hong Kong, is publishing a new report examining business practices in Hong Kong and China and the need for comprehensive ESG standards.

The report, “Responsible Businesses in Hong Kong and China: Identifying, Assessing and Mitigating the ESG Risks”, was developed by MPs and Peers who are concerned about businesses ignoring evidence of human rights abuses by the authorities and continue to operate in Hong Kong and China.

The report recommends that the British government ban organisations from conducting business with companies complicit in human rights violations. This could see companies registered in the UK be compelled to take legal responsibility for human rights violations as a result of their own directly-controlled operations or due to the operations of companies in their supply chains.

With China continuing to repress human rights and democracy in Hong Kong, as well as its brutal practices in Xinjiang, it is vital that the British government takes steps to prevent businesses and other organisations in their supply chains from being complicit in these human rights abuses.

You can find the main report here and a shorter summary of the report here that comprises the main recommendations.

The APPG on Hong Kong and independent advocacy group @Stand_with_HK have published a ground-breaking report urging the UK Government to ban organisations from conducting business with companies complicit in human rights violations in Hong Kong and China.
