Sunday Telegraph reports on “pressing need” to examine CCTV cameras owned by Chinese tech firms linked to the CCP and with capacity to create a Xinjiang style surveillance State. Parliament has the chance to act by strengthening the Telecom Bill currently before the Lords.

The danger to U.K. security interests and to civil liberties posed by Chinese surveillance cameras in high streets and public buildings was raised during a debate on an all party amendment moved to the Committee Stage of the Telecommunications Security Bill (follow link below) and will be pursued again at Report Stage in September.
