Today’s Sunday Telegraph has revealed that U.K. local authorities will review contracts for CCTV equipment from Hikvision, the Chinese tec firm, black listed in the US but not the U.K. The company has been accused of helping to build the CCP’s surveillance State and profiting from Hunan rights abuses.

And it isn’t just surveillance equipment monitoring our streets and communities.

Some Local Authorities, such as Wigan, have awarded contracts to Chinese companies.

There are fears that as has happened with U.K. universities, the CCP has pursued a deliberate policy of penetrating local authorities and winning redevelopment contracts.

The Communities Secretary, Robert Jenrick MP, should require all local authorities to provide details of such deals and demand to see whether subsidised lowest bids for council developments have undercut unsubsidised U.K. companies.

Once the CCP has a foothold in U.K. institutions it creates a dependency culture which silences criticism of its domestic crimes and of its well documented attempts to impose international hegemony through its authoritarian ideology.
