Even before Covid, democracy was at an inflection point for western States with liberal values. It has been crying out for leaders who believe in its innate strength.
The G7 message from Cornwall to the world must be that democratic government is a better government than authoritarianism because unlike one party States and dictatorships it is an accountable form of government, provides the opportunity for change and renewal, enhanced Hunan dignity and vests ultimate power in the hands of the people.
