Isn’t it time that Westminster Abbey @wabbey westminster-abbey.org   celebrated the life of JRR Tolkien in Poet’s Corner – perhaps next to his friend and fellow writer and Oxford professor, C.S.Lewis? The Lord of the Rings is one of the best-selling books ever written, with over 150 million copies sold and The Times ranked him 6th on the list of the 50 greatest British writers since 1945. He was honoured by the Queen and his University. His place in Westminster Abbey’s Poet’s Corner is long overdue.

Lord David Alton

For 18 years David Alton was a Member of the House of Commons and today he is an Independent Crossbench Life Peer in the UK House of Lords.
