When pro democracy Opposition legislators in Hong Kong’s Legislative Council have had to announce that they will “resign en masse” if the Chinese Communist Party presses on with disqualifying four of them for violating the Basic Law, it shows how little of “two systems one country” remains in place. Beijing is only interested in “one system and one party” and it attempts to crush dissent or alternative views whenever they emerge. What a sad day for Hong Kong but what courage these legislators have shown.
